What is Gamblers Anonymous (GA)? Gamblers Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other, that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from a gambling problem. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop gambling. There are no dues or fees for Gamblers Anonymous membership; they are self-supporting. Gamblers Anonymous (GA) is a twelve step program for compulsive gamblers. The Gamblers Anonymous New York is a fellowship of recovering compulsive gamblers who live in New York. The only requirement for GA membership is the desire to stop gambling.
Throughout history, untold suffering and humiliation has been the lot of countless thousands of men and women who were addicted to gambling. Today, through the formation of the GA fellowship, a bright new page has been unfolded in the struggle against this insidious illness.
People looking to GA for help, aside from the desire to stop gambling, are not required to subscribe to any particular belief system, religious or otherwise. Gamblers Anonymous makes no demands upon them whatsoever.
Most new members find themselves with a multitude of problems. GA can offer sound advice in dealing with many of these pressures, including: legal difficulties, financial difficulties, employment difficulties, and family difficulties.
Gamblers Anonymous has but one primary purpose - to carry its message to the compulsive gambler who still suffers. We invite you to explore the pages of this website in order that it might help you or someone you know with a gambling problem.

Open MeetingSpouses, family, and friends of the gambler are welcome to attend and observe the meeting.
Closed MeetingOnly those with a gambling problem, or those who think they may have a gambling problem, and have a desire to stop gambling, may attend and participate.
Modified-Closed MeetingThe attending GA members will vote to include certain groups such as health professionals, guests attending with a member, persons with other addictions in need of a meeting
